NewsSeptember 14, 2008 Jeff Rolling in CORRUnfortunately, the
rolling in the
title of today's news isn't the type we like to hear about.
Jeff started Sunday's race in the 6th position. He came out charging and worked his way up into the 3rd position by the time the mandatory caution came out. Jeff instantly worked his way past Casey Currie to take away the 2nd spot and was ready to chase down Marty Hart for the lead. However, with only 4 laps to go Jeff's truck got squirrely in the whoops section before Devil's leap. He ended up getting into some loose dirt, which caused him to roll over and get a flat tire. Jeff was able to get into the pits and change the flat and he finished 15th. When the official points standings are out, they will be posted. Unofficially, Marty Hart is in the lead and Jeff is in 2nd or 3rd. ------------------------------------
Jeff Kincaid Motorsports
headed back west after winning
the WSORR Pro-Light Championship last race weekend in hometown
Crandon, WI. With the 2nd spot
on the starting grid, Jeff had only to pass one racer to gain the lead.
On the start Jeff instantly jumped out to the lead, but a wreck on the
track caused there to be a full race restart. Jeff was still sitting in
the number two spot on the start and when the race restarted Jeff
pulled the same maneuver to burst ahead with the hole shot.
Starting the weekend, Jeff was tied with Marty Hart for 3rd place in the points standings, 18 points behind leader Rob Naughton. Jeff held his first place line and lead at the mandatory caution lap. This put Jeff ahead of Hart by 5 points as Hart was in 3rd place at the caution. The caution didn't help out any of Jeff's competitors enough for him to get passed as he raced a perfect race, leading start to finish. Marty Hart finished 2nd and Chad Hord worked his way up to 3rd, putting three Midwest racers on the podium in the West coast CORR series. Jeff now has the points championship lead. With a good finish on Sunday, he should be able to leave California ahead once again. ------------------------------------
September 2, 2008 Six-Time Pro-Light Champion
Sunday at Crandon International Off-Road
Raceway marked the last race of the 2008 WSORR season. Jeff only
needed to complete one lap to become the 2008 Pro-Light points
champion. Jeff wasn't content with just finishing one lap however, as
Jeff raced to his full
potential from start to finish. Jeff came out of the gates
charging hard and left Potawatomi
Turn 1 with the hole shot. Jeff took his early lead and made it
a huge lead within three laps. Jeff didn't let up the whole race as he
wanted to show just what he could do with his Traxxas Potawatomi BFGoodrich
Toyota Pro-Light Pickup. No other racer was even close to
catching Jeff the entire race as Jeff cruised into the last lap with a
gargantuan lead. After the General Tire Jump, Jeff "took 'er easy" as he took
it all in and slowly crossed the finish line for the final time in the
2008 WSORR season yet again in 1st
place, this time also with the 2008 WSORR Pro-Light points
championship.
Jeff said afterwards, "This may have been the last time you'll see me in a Pro-Light so I wanted to show you all what we can do." ![]() ------------------------------------
August 31, 2008 One Lap to Go for Championship
Yesterday's race
started out well for Jeff as his Traxxas Potawatomi BFGoodrich
Toyota pulled the hole shot coming out of Potawatomi Turn Number 1.
Jeff never looked back and led the first few laps by a good margin. The
truck started sputtering on every corner for about three laps and Jeff
knew he had a problem.
Chad Hord took advantage of this as he passed Jeff for the lead on the front straightaway. Jeff wasn't able to complete that lap. The sputtering of the engine was caused by a fuel line that had broken loose and caused the truck to eventually run out of fuel, ending Jeff's race. Hord went on to win the World Championship Ring. Even with the fuel line problem, Jeff finished ahead of Steve Federico, who is second in the points race right now. Jeff is leading by 21 points going into Sunday and needs to complete 1 lap to become the 2008 WSORR Pro-Light Points Champion. ------------------------------------
Repeat
of Decision at Sundown
Friday, August 29,
was the 2nd of the now to be annual WSORR Pro-Light Decision at Sundown
held in historic Crandon, WI. The stage was set for Jeff to try to
defend his title, with some of the best Pro-Light racers in the country
as competitors in the race.
As the sun began to set, anticipation began to
rise, as the competitors for the "shootout"
race lined up at the starting line. They stood near their trucks,
preparing for the intense race which was about to be run on Crandon's
"Super Short" track, in which the back turn on the track was just
around Parson's Pond.
![]() The sun set
further and the green flag was let go. The
famous Crandon International
land rush start went into Potawatomi turn
number 1 with Jeff flying just along the outside of Steve
Federico,
both vying for
the hole shot. Jeff came away
with it, but Federico was determined to stay close behind.
Federico stayed with Jeff for about 4 laps, when Chad Hord worked his
way around Federico.Although Chad Hord pushed hard, Jeff never looked back. Jeff ran a
flawless race to the end and came away with the 2nd
win in a row of
the Decision at Sundown.
Jeff is the only winner of the Decision at
Sundown.Jeff now looks ahead to August 30, to win a World Championship ring and to possibly clinch the points championship before Sunday. ------------------------------------ August 27, 2008
Back Home With a Lot on the LineLabor Day weekend in Crandon, WI is home to the most prestigious off-road races in the world as well has home to Jeff Kincaid. The Borg Warner Shootout is held on Sunday, August 31 this year. More importantly for Jeff, is the Decision at Sundown on Friday, August 29. The Decision at Sundown is a Pro-Light challenge that Jeff currently holds the title to. Jeff won the inaugural Decision at Sundown last year and he is looking to retain the title. Jeff is also going to be looking to win another World Championship on Saturday, August 30. With a win, Jeff would get another World Championship ring as well as help tremendously in Jeff's ultimate goal for the year: winning the points championship. Sunday will most likely be the deciding day on whether or not Jeff will win his 6th Pro-Light Championship. Without any problems on Friday or Saturday, Jeff should be able to be looking to win the championship with a high finish on Sunday. Friday there will be a parade in Crandon where Jeff will be showing off his truck and what some Traxxas RC cars can do. Stop by in Crandon early (9:00 am) Friday and watch Jeff and all of the other racers and race teams show off their vehicles and abilities with the truck push and tire changing contest. |
